Currently, Zoom is one of the leaders in remote conferencing services using cloud computing. This communications software combines video conferencing, online meetings, chat, and mobile collaboration. This session will get you up and running with the basics of Zoom, how to’s and best practices around virtual meetings.

Learning Objectives:

After this session, participants should be able to:

  • identify the key features of Zoom and be able to use them effectively;

  • create accounts and understand/apply skills in three Zoom basics:

    • scheduling, hosting, joining meeting;

  • understand and apply skills from Zoom meeting How to’s: pre-meeting, in-meeting, and post-meeting; and

  • identify and apply good meeting design elements in their sessions.


Marc StoeckerMarc Stoecker is a Senior Training Consultant at Envolvemedia and does independent contract work building workshops and other training and multimedia work. He is looking at the CTI coaching program in the Fall and hopes to pursue the coach trainer designation and potentially complete the full certification.

Marc thrives in creative environments and has experience in instructional design, project management, scenario-based eLearning design, gamification, social collaboration tools, and multimedia development. He enjoys supporting learners and clients in technical training and soft skills and is looking for opportunities to collaborate with other professionals in human resources, associations, non-profits, and coaching.

Matteo BecchiMatteo Becchi is passionate about helping individuals, teams and organizations improve the way they Live and Work.

Matteo is a Senior Consultant with The Clearing, where he supports the mission of “… believing in, inspiring, and outfitting leaders to lead meaningful lives, and to make extraordinary contributions to causes that matter.” He provides Visual & OD Consulting Services to organizations globally, helping them better see, understand, and also achieve their goals together.

Prior to that, as the Associate Director of the Project Management Office (PMO) in the Office of Information Technology at American University, Matteo spent his days managing the more complex, impactful, and costly projects from the 8 university project portfolios. Matteo also partnered with initiatives and groups across campus to promote and support health, wellness, and positive change for AU staff, faculty, and students.
